Sunny, Violet and Klaus from the series of books A Series of Unfortunate Events.
FULL VIEW PLEZ I think what I love most about these books besides the amazing characters is the fact that the author is concerned about and critiques the notion of under-valueing and under-estimating the mind and awareness of the child. Something I feel is very important for illustration as well. I remember as a kid I used to love freaky, wierd illustrations in books. An obvious one to come to mind was Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Children love this book, but it was initially shunned because it was deemed to frightening for them. pencil and photoshop background credit:[link] [link] oh and characters copyright Daniel Handler (and the movie studio that made the movie...man im useless haha illustration copyright me EDIT: WOW!!!!! a DD!!! Thankyou so much!!!!!!<3<3<3 Daily DeviationGiven 2008-02-03A Very Unfortunate Portrait by ~rose-colligan: "This is just amazing: the textures, the art work framing the characters and the characters themselves make this a lovely and tender depiction that could should be a book cover!"
